Hello From The Art Room!

My name is Amber Atkeison Crabtree and I’m the lucky one that gets to teach my favorite subject to my favorite kids on my favorite island!

 

For me, it all started RIGHT HERE! I was raised in Leachville by two awesome parents, Jerry and Geilda Kay Atkeison. First, I was a Leachville Lion, then a Buffalo Island Central MUSTANG, on to a University of Central Arkansas Bear!

I have a BFA in art with an emphasis in graphic design/commercial art. My first career was for 13 years at KAIT TV in Jonesboro. My second career has been for 15 years for BUFFALO ISLAND CENTRAL!

 

I think my artists are the smartest, and you will too, when you check back to see what we’ve been doing. Because art is way too important not to share!

Patriotic Agamographs

These agamographs were created for Veteran's Day by our upper elementary students. An agamograph is a painting or drawing that, when viewed from different angles, reveals a different image. Here we created the United States flag for one view and a self portrait of the artist pledging as the next view. Agamographs are named for Yakkov Agam, an Israel artist known for his sculptures that move, change or transform.
